Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the admissions process take? +

Our standard admissions cycle for cohort-based learning takes approximately 10 to 14 business days. This includes the initial review of your inquiry, a portfolio assessment by our curriculum architects, and a 30-minute interview with our Director of Student Success. We aim to provide a final decision as quickly as possible to allow you to plan your professional transition. For self-paced tracks, enrollment is instantaneous upon payment processing.

Can I schedule a tour of the San Francisco campus? +

Yes, we encourage prospective students to visit our headquarters at 156 2nd Street. Campus tours are held every Wednesday at 16:00 PST. Due to the high volume of interest and our commitment to maintaining a focused learning environment for current students, we require all visitors to register at least 48 hours in advance through our contact form. You will receive a confirmation email with security instructions for the building.

Do you provide visa support for international students? +

Synthetix Academy is currently able to provide official letters of enrollment for students applying for short-term educational visas. However, we do not directly sponsor long-term student visas (such as F-1). Many of our international students choose our fully immersive remote track, which provides the exact same curriculum and certification without the need for physical relocation to the United States. We have students participating from over 45 countries across various time zones.

What should I include in my portfolio for the admissions review? +

We are looking for evidence of creative logic rather than just technical execution. Your portfolio should showcase at least 5 pieces of work that demonstrate your understanding of composition, color theory, and user experience. If you have already experimented with AI tools, we would love to see your "process logs"—the series of prompts and iterations that led to your final result. If you are coming from a non-design background, you may submit work that demonstrates complex problem-solving or technical proficiency in other fields.
